Finished (mostly) The Best American Science Writing 2003, which had some good stuff but mostly wasn't as good as the 2006 edition. Seeing it's just an anthology, that either means that 1) science writing has improved 2) more interesting stuff happened in 2006 or 3) the 2006 version was just better edited. I hope it's 1 but suspect it's 2 or 3.

Finished "Raise High The Roof Beams, Carpenters/Seymour: An Introduction" by J.D. Salinger which was, to me, incredible. Two very different stories, but both simply outstanding. The latter half vaults this book into top ten all time status for me. I will surely read this again some day.
