Soccer

Damn, we're a good team. Demolished our opponents 8-0 today. They never really stood a chance. I got to switch up to midfield midway through the second half, and had good runs down both wings, including a chance to do my one "move", which resulted in a cross and a goal. But I also missed an absolute sitter from eight yards out or so.

No injuries at all besides wounded pride on the miss. Post-game lower back pain seems to have gone away, which I'm quite happy about.

Soccer

Another big win for the team, as we beat an undefeated team 3-0. I suspect this game will be prove unmemorable for me, as I had more than a few touches that could be labeled "ordinary", but we kept a clean sheet, so no biggie.

Some lower back pain, but not as bad as last week, and no injuries, as the turf (or rather dirt) was nice and soft from the previous night's rain.

Movie

Just watched "Our Man In Havana" on TV with Marjorie, which we both enjoyed. It probably helped that we had both read the book first. Is Alec Guiness ever bad in anything?

Book

Finished "The Physicists" by C. P. Snow, which was light on the science but still rather interesting.

Soccer

Brilliant game today, as we beat the team that beat us 9-0 only a month ago. Beat them 4-2. Weird thing is, I didn't think I played all that great, but I have NEVER had so many compliments after a match, so I guess I did okay. I did spend the whole game in my usual role, marking their main striker, and kept him from scoring, but felt like my ball skills in general were more sh*t than usual. Still, a very satisfying match.

No runs up. Post-match lower back pain as usual, but I found that a bike ride afterwards really helped.

Book

Finished "Franny and Zooey" by Salinger. He's in my pantheon now, joining Steinbeck, Greene, and Camus.

Movies

Rented "Conversations With Other Women", which I didn't really enjoy at first, but which improved as I thought about it.

Also rented "Delirious", which was kind of dumb.
